Local businesses are being encouraged to participate in the Charlotte Business Confidence Index administered by the Urban Institute at UNC-Charlotte.By providing real-time assessments of local economic trends in terms of sales, profits, jobs and growth, the quarterly index helps local policymakers understand the needs of local businesses.

The surveytakes less than 10 minutes to complete. After a one-time registration, participants will be initially prompted to answersix short questions after which they will receive quarterly reminders to provide updates. Businesses are asked to identify an appropriate individual within their company who has sufficient organizational knowledge and will commit to filling out the short survey each quarter. Survey data will be reported in the aggregate; all individual company information will remain confidential.
