Business District Organizations,

 

Something innovative is happening in Charlotte tomorrow - and it could serve
as a model for your business district. 

 

Thanks to staff with the Michael Scott Mater Foundation
<http://www.msmf.org/> , Charlotte's first cash mob is happening in SouthEnd
tomorrow from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. What is a Cash Mob you might ask? Cash mobs,
like flash mobs, are designed to encourage people to takeover a local
business and spend their money, en masse, to give the business owner a
little bit of economic stimulus. At the mob there are three rules: (1) Spend
$20; (2) meet three people you didn't know before; and (3) have fun! By
serving as a "micro buy-local" initiative, cash mob's are not only fun and
innovative, they can help get the word out about a business, introduce
people to a unique business district, attract new customers, and grow
revenue. 

 

That's where you come in. Telling the story of your business district,
branding and marketing your district, attracting new people and growing
revenue is all part of what you're all about. I want to encourage you to
consider attending tomorrow's cash mob event to learn how you might be able
to incorporate this into what you're already doing. You never know, it could
be the beginning of something great for your district!
